Introducing the Nintendo DSi XL
The Nintendo DSi XL follows in the fresh footsteps of the DSi just 12 months after its release. It may seem like a short time frame to release successive consoles but the DSi XL isn’t designed to replace the existing DSi, it is designed for those who want to very best experience from their DS console.

The DSi XL has a much bigger screen than the DSi which had a bigger screen than the DS Lite which has a bigger screen than the DS.
Unlike the last iteration of the DS, the Nintendo DSi XL features screen which isn’t just 10% bigger than its predecessor. This screen is 50% larger. That means the difference will be 5 times as noticeable.
There have been some concerns that increasing the size of the screen without increasing the resolution of it result in a more pixelated appearance. Nintendo obviously took this into consideration and tested the size they could increase the screen to before the individual pixels become noticeable. Staring hard you will be able to see a small difference in how noticeable the pixels are in comparison with the predecessors to the DSi XL console but you’ll probably never notice unless you’re looking for it.
