Nintendo Denies Wii HD
Rumours have been circulating about a Wii HD for some years now. For the most part these have now been killed off as Nintendo of America CEO has said “I don’t know how forcefully we can say there is no Wii HD.”
Video games companies don’t often comment on rumours but the talk of a Wii HD must have got to them. Who knows what this really means. It could that a whole new console is in development. With the success of HD TV being perhaps larger than Nintendo expected it would be surprising if Nintendo avoided HD gaming for another generation. However Nintendo aren’t known for following trends, being the last to adopt online gaming (and currently they are barely even doing that now), and the last games company to switch from cartridges to disks. They later changed their stance on these ideas, they may do it again.
With the DSi XL being the 4th generation of the DS, you have to wonder what the home console hardware developers have been up to all these years. Maybe they’ve just been working on accessories to go with their games.

The Wii HD may have been cancelled due to a shoddy looking prototype.
